WordPress is not only a popular blogging platform, but also a full-fledged web site content management system (CMS) used to run the web sites of large businesses and major universities. It was estimated in August 2011 that WordPress runs on 22% of all new domains in the United States.
There are two major WordPress platforms - the WordPress.com site hosted by Automatic and the WordPress.org self-hosted version. This talk will focus on using the self-hosted version as a Content Management System (CMS). We will discuss:

- Extending via Plugins

With over 18 years of software development, security and customer service leadership experience in the healthcare and manufacturing industries, David has a passion for creating innovative solutions that use the latest technologies and place the needs of the customer first.
David has developed order handling, inventory and communications applications for enterprises as well as web based patient portals and online staff learning management systems. His platforms of choice are Microsoft .Net and WordPress primarily using C#, VB, ASP.Net, PHP and T-SQL languages.

Meeting Details
This meeting will be held at the Gulf Coast Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PJC Downtown) conference room on the 4th floor. 418 West Garden Street, Pensacola FL. The meeting starts at 11:30 am and ends at 1:00 pm. The cost for lunch is $12 per person. The fee to attend without lunch is $5 per person.
